UCPH LOM Conference: Trends in excellent and interdisciplinary lifestyle, obesity and metabolic research

University of Copenhagen's strategic platform for Lifestyle, Obesity and Metabolic research (UCPH LOM) is pleased to invite you to their annual conference, 20-21 June 2017, that will showcase excellent and interdisciplinary science, and facilitate interaction between disciplines and approaches in the area of lifestyle, obesity and metabolic research.

REGISTRATION & ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
The conference is open for all with an interest in lifestyle, obesity and metabolic research.
There is no registration fee for UCPH faculty and staff, but for attendants from outside UCPH the participation fee is DKK 200 for the conference (DKK 400 incl. dinner) - unless you get your abstract accepted for presentation, then participation is free of charge.

We encourage young researchers from HUM, HEALTH, LAW, SOCIAL SCIENCES, SCIENCE and THEOL and external collaborators* to submit an abstract. The conference committee will select abstracts for presentation on day 1 and day 2.

INVITED KEY NOTE SPEAKERS
Dr Rebecca O'Connell, Senior Research Officer at Thomas Coram Research Unit and co-convenor of the British Sociological Association Food Study Group.
Dr O’Connell has a background in Social Anthropology and with principal research interests in the intersection of care and work, especially foodwork and childcare, with a particular focus on the home, food practices and the ethics of care. She is currently undertaking a ERC funded study that examines what young people and their families eat in Portugal, the UK and Norway, and how they manage in difficult economic times, the Families and Food in Hard Times research project.
Dr. Jean-Philippe Chaput, Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa
Dr. Chaput’s research focuses on obesity prevention and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle. He is also interested in new determinants of obesity such as lack of sleep and mental stress. Current research interests include: childhood obesity, sleep, physical activity, sedentary behaviour and health.
