The Final Programme for EASD figures many well-known DDA names

The 2020-edition of the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) will be a virtual experience. On the impressing list of scientists who will present their studies are many familiar names seen through DDA- glasses.
The virtual meeting starts Monday September 21 and runs throughout the week. It is the 56th annual meeting and Vienna should have been the host city. However, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic the meeting will be a virtual experience. Still the global diabetes community will connect, and ground breaking diabetes science and research will be shared during the EASD.
There are many familiar DDA-faces stepping in front of cameras and turning up their mic. Both current and former DDA-funded scientists will attend and tell about their research. There will be oral presentations from Katrine M. Lauritsen, Esben Søndergaard, Esben Laugesen, Daniel Witte, Mathias Ried-Larsen and Line Hjort.
Poster discussions with young scientists
Tuesday to Thursday, several Poster Events take place. Among the scientists who will present and discuss their work are:
Mads Kjølby, Adam Hulman, Andreas Brønden, Jose Omar Silverman Retana, Rebecca K. Simmons, Luke William Johnston, Christoffer Martinussen, Eva-Marie Gram-Kampmann, Jonas Salling Quist, Mark Lyngbæk, Julie Abildgaard, and Anne Gedebjerg.
Many new formats have been developed for this first virtual meeting. It includes a variety of engaging formats. Symposia, Oral and Poster Presentations with the option to ask questions and interact with the speakers are live-streamed. Hubs for discussions, sharing of ideas and knowledge are open. Moreover, a wide range of possibilities for mingling, exploring and networking virtually is among the newly developed features.
