Online Course - Will future technology solve retinopathy screening challenges?

At this 3 hour online course, we will go through some of the new technologies to carry out retinopathy screening, including artificial intelligence for picture analysis, which together with new ways of organising can facilitate more efficient screening using fewer resources and working closer to the patients.

WHO CAN ATTEND?
The online course is aimed at all interested in new technologies in screening for diabetic retinopathy and especially artificial intelligence for picture analysis.
The seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The course is held in Danish.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Screening for diabetic retinopathy is a time- and resource-consuming task as an efficient screening programme requires expensive and advanced camera equipment to photograph the retina and qualified health professionals with expertise in ophthalmology to assess the pictures for abnormalities. Meanwhile patients are challenged by having to take time off work and sometimes spend a long time on transport to get to the screening.
At this online course, we aim to compile the newest knowledge within screening technologies for diabetic retinopathy and potential benefits for the patients and society of the new technologies.
Participants will be introduced to deep learning technologies for image analysis and taken through new camera technologies and strategies for screening – all with the aim of improving retinopathy screening and deliver better and less resource consuming screening to patients.
Preparation ahead of the webinar
Three webcasts on health economics, technical and legal aspects of new technology used in screening for diabetic retinopathy will be available and highly recommended to watch ahead of the course.
The webcasts will be sent to all participants who have signed up for the online course.
