New features and changes to the DDA website

Although the DDA stays largely the same, as a national and international hub for diabetes research, we have decided to employ a new layout and with those changes comes a few new features. There are four new main features.
1) The slider feature: The old DDA front page featured news articles only, which means that the user would have to read the news article and then be directed to a second page with the relevant information. However, with the slider function the DDA can now carefully select events, news and grants that are of interest to you so that you can easily access relevant information directly, without first having to read a news article. Thus, saving you time.
2) The carousel catalogue: As mentioned earlier the old front page allowed only for news articles to be shared, while this new function will let the user see the newest articles, events and grants, directly on the front page, which will save you the hassle of navigating around our page. A miniature version of this carousel will also be available in the sidebar

3) The map: The DDA has been active since 2012 where we have helped junior and senior researchers with their research career. We cherish every collaboration we have had and we see every researcher that we helped as a part of the DDA family. To show how far our family roots stretch we made a visual representation of the institutions and universities that we collaborate with.

4) The event calendar: In the sidebar you can now easily see which events are next and what events we have planned for our members by scrolling around in the calendar.
Some things never change
Most features on the DDA site will remain the same, so that the user will feel familiar when applying for a grant or signing up for an event. However the biggest change for reviewers and regular users is the fact that you now log in at the top of the DDA site. Furthermore, this is also where it is now possible to edit your profile and where reviewers access the reviewer dashboard.
