Presenting Powerfully - DDA Presentation Course

The two-day DDA Presentation Course – Presenting Powerfully will provide participants with the opportunity to focus on enhancing their presentation skills to create engaging presentations and be better equipped to handle difficult questions.
The workshop will consist of plenary and small group sessions and will provide a stimulating forum to discuss, practise and build upon newly acquired skills, behaviours, and techniques. There will be a focus on personal feedback for participants including filming of each participant’s presentation.
The workshops will be small groups of 7-8 participants to ensure feedback is highly-personalised to each participant.

WHO CAN ATTEND?
The course is primarily for postdoc fellows. If seats are available after the registration deadline, PhD students are warmly welcomed. To participate you will:
- be prepared to work in small groups and to deliver presentations to their peers
- be willing to give and receive constructive feedback relating to their skills as a presenter and handler of difficult questions.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the workshop training, participants will be able to:
- appraise effectively the volume of data an audience take in
- demonstrate best practice techniques in handling difficult questions
- develop greater self-awareness of interpersonal skills needed to present effectively

REGISTRATION & SUBMISSION OF presentations
Registration deadline: 14 February 2019
Participants will need to bring a pre-prepared presentation to the course, following the guidance set out in an invitation letter. The invitation letter will be sent after the registration deadline.
Please notice that a limited number of seats are available for this course. Postdocs will be prioritised on a first come, first served basis. However, if seats are still available after the registration deadline, we will call for PhD students to sign up. This will be announced on our website.
